Hehe nice. Great to see a good number of LCO's from Arkansas. How is the Winter treating you guys? I'm ready for Spring and green grass.

Good mourning Dugann. It's cold as hell here in Elkins, about 10 deg. and icy roads of course We got just a dusting of snow on top of ice. I also can't wait for spring!

alright so what do you guys do for money this time of year? we dont get enough snow or ice to really invest in any of that equipment so besides leaves/storm cleanups what else is there?

Well, right now I'm waiting for UPS to deliver my Extreme Trimmer rack, but with the wind and cold today I will probably wait until early next week to get it installed. Other that that, since I'm retired, I don't really have to work, but I do a lot of maintenance over the winter, pruning of crepe myrtle in Feb, planning for the new year, also do some tree trimming, cutting, etc. as time and customers permit. Next week I have to pull the trailer wheels and grease the bearings. Got a lotta honey do's to do too! This is the time I try to get caught up around the house. When April comes, I won't have time for much around the house except for emergencies. A friend has quit the business and given my number to all his customers, so this coming year may be busy indeed!!

Cold here in Mena it has been very cold. Too cold to do much work this past week, but we managed to get our shots in.

In the off season we do a variety of things to get through. We work for a real estate company here in town. In the summer we mow their rental apartments and houses. We do property clean ups, light maintenance, and well basically anything that they need done even painting, cleaning etc. I have a crew just for their needs. In the winter they are very important to us. Other things we do in the winter is Christmas lights, leaf clean up, property clean up, landscaping construction/maintenance, equipment up keep, and really what we do a good job I feel of going around visiting with our customers and taking care of their needs.

What about the rest of you fellers?

I dont stop mowing. I have been cutting all my ornamental stuff the past 2 weeks as well as cutting the lawn a little shorter. We usually have leaves left over and we take care of those when we mow. I dont really have an off season. I keep it coming.

How did all you guys do during this past weekends Winter storm? I hope every one did okay through it. One good thing about it around here in Mena there is a lot of down limbs and broken trees so should be some decent business from it.

Everyone have a brew on me and lets hope Spring come in fast!

Good morning Dugann,we got about a 1/2 inch of ice & 8 inches of snow. We are under a fog advisory now. I haven't seen any major tree damage and we never lost power Did you guys get ice mostly? How are your roads? Ours are pretty bad

Here in Mena we didn't get a lot of snow or ice, but the trees even this morning still have ice on them. We have a lot of pine around here and so there is a lot of down branches and snapped trees. The rain, sleet, and cold wind was the issue here I believe. Glad to see you guys did okay through the storms. Hope everyone else fared well.

Today's February 1, 2010 it won't be long till the mowers are rolling again!
