New Customer Form

I was wanting to know how the majority of you sign up new customers. Do you write down their information or have them fill out a form?

Here is some of the questions and such I am going to put on my form for the new customers to fill out. (This is besides the general name, address, ect)

Listed in no particular order:

  • Email address
  • Do you have low voltage lighting?(Y or N)
  • Do you have an underground dog fence? (Y or N)
  • Do you have any outdoor pets? (Y or N)
  • Have you had a lawn care company before? (Y or N)
  • How did you hear about us? (bubble field of answers)
  • Does your lawn have any history of known problems (Y or N) -- If yes, please explain.
  • What would you like to improve in your lawn through our services?

What other questions do you guys include?

That is a good list Josh!

I have rarely asked many of those questions, but I think we need to!!!!!

When are you going to ask these questions? After they commit to your service or will you ask everyone?

I'm not sure, I don't want to scare a potential customer off, but I feel that we need to know these questions to best serve them.

The dog fence and low voltage lighting questions are for aeration's. How bad would it suck to go out and put 20 holes in an underground dog fence and lose the customer (plus aeration profits).

It would be nice to have them fill out the form at time of estimate, then if they call in next year or later that season to sign up, they are good to go.

Good one, I thought I had the irrigation question in there.

The mowing one is a good idea.

Another good question to put on there is to ask if they had a previous lawn care company, why did they leave. (either a bubble field or short answer)

I think those are all very good questions.

Once you do all the hard work of putting something together can you send me the format and let me use it?
