1/2 vs. 3/8 Hose?

I'm looking into my first skid sprayer, 250 -300ft hose. I don't know the pros and cons of each hose size. I would think the 1/2 hose would be more to lug around. Comments? Electric real?

We'll you right about the weight of hose, it depend on how many gallons per minute your pump put out. The bigger the hose the more you can put out.

I use 3/8 hose it works for me i would not want to drag around 1/2 hose but it all depends on what your spraying some guys spray 5gal th i only do 1.3 gal per th so you have to decide a electric reel is must winding up 300 ft of hose is not fun at most houses your going to use at least 200 ft out

Electric reel needed. Charles is right. Half inch hose delivers about twice as many gallons per minute at the same pressure. You need half-inch if mixing fert with herbicide. But if you are planning on low volume, say 1 to 1.5 gals per thousand sqft, then 3/8 is the way to go.

Most of my yards are between 5K and 30K. As of now i am planning on spraying .15ish Lbs of Urea /1000sf with my pre and post. It sounds like the industry standard is 2gal per Minute per 1000sf. I have not sprayed before, should i go with less water per 1000 and higher presure? I don't see myself spraying many trees.

I have been using the 3/8 hose on my hannay elec. hose reel. I want to switch to the 1/2 so I can crank up the pressure and spray large properties faster. Also if I would happen to want to put down 3gal min, the 3/8 doesn't seem to allow the volume. I have the D30 pump
