kawasaki 20 hp liquid cooled engine

i just bought a scag that has a 20hp kawasaki liquid cooled engine onit. it is missing the starter how do i find out what kind of starter goes on it

Look on the engine and find the Kawasaki Model #, should be something like FH540V-CS21, yours will be different but will look similar. With that, any mower shop that deals with Kawasaki can look it up, and almost all of the Kawasaki engines take the same starter so it should be easy to find one. Almost all engine parts have to come through the engine manufacturer not through scag of whoever built the mower.

that would be too easy. Spend hours and even days trying to find the Scag dealer will take up way to much time. It's easier to just ask a stranger where to buy it.

What is the model number on the engine? E bay and goggle are your friends. Ask them and I bet they will have an answer!

where can i get wiring diagram for kawasaki engine i need to know what wires hook to the starter i have three wires a big red wire a small red wire and a medium red with yellow strip. the big red i know goes to battery on one end the red with yellow strip goes to the key switch which it has a in line fuse im not sure what the small red goes to but its a little square black box on the starter side of engine.i need to know if all three of them hook to the starter or which ones do
