Unique Apollostar Fixture Question

My first time using well lights. Can I position the lamp all the way at the top of the fixture or do I need to leave a gap between lamp and lens? Thanks

I believe it is more of a glare reduction issue, keeping them down inside the well cuts down glare.

No, the lense is tempered glass. Heat will not effect it.
