I use the AO Safty Work Tunes and love them. They block out almost all the noise of blowers, mowers, and log splitters, (which is what I primarly use them for). They also come with a cord you can plug your ipod and mp3 in, and use them instead of radio. They run like 50-6o at home depot

I find the ones that you buy at home depot are cheaply made and for me they dont hold up to the daily grind of lawn care. Just my .02.

work-tunes here too. I had a pair that lasted like 10-12yrs. The padding and stuff around your ears ripped and got all shot. My brother got me some new ones last Christmas, and they are allready turning into a POS. I was going under a tree and a branch hit me on top of the head Right on top of the headphone cord. Now the left speaker works kinda when it wants to. Does not take the beating the older ones do. These may just get hung up next to the grinder. I think next year I may try some of those IN EAR headphones that are made to block out noise and just plug them into my nice little AM/FM digital radio...it has presets and a digital tuner. BUT, the sound quality and Noise reduction was real good with the worktunes.....I don't know what I'll do.

Me too 1400 + songs - got music for every mood - some that chills me out - some that gets my blood going.

On the earphones themselves - BOSE in ear headphones are great - about $60s on ebay sometimes - Walmart also sells a pair that is roughly $22 that are darn near as good. I use them below my ear muffs, but as stated I do have issues with them falling out when I hit the cord with stick.
