Kaw governor adjustment

Can anyone give me some directions on adjusting the governor on a 14hp Kawasaki engine. I haven't picked up a workshop manual yet, and I need to increase the rpm's to 3600 - I'm running a little low now. Thanks.

DO NOT ADJUST THE GOVERNOR!!!

The governor's purpose is to automatically adjust RPMs, either up or down, depending on the amount of power the engine needs. Typicially as the engine is put under more stress and the RPMs drop the governor opens the throttle up and gives the engine more gas. Then as the RPMs increase the governor decreases the gas to maintain the RPMs that you have set for the engine via the throttle.

How to set the maximum RPMs on a 14 hp Kawasaki:

On the bracket that the throttle cable attaches to you will see 2 10mm bolts. One at the top and one at the bottom. Loosen them both a little bit and slide the bracket back and forth until you get the desired maximum RPMs. You may need to move the top of the bracket to the right and the bottom to the left or vice-a-versa.

DO NOT ADJUST THE GOVERNOR!!!

Richard,
Thanks for the reply. I was looking for some kind of adjustment on there, and didn't even notice that those holes were slotted. A slight move to the rear put me @3600 rpm's now.
