Pretty cool pics.

We bid a Barge job last winter. Since it was something new to me, I was the highest bidder by a large margin. Still it would have been cool to get that job.

Welcome barge man!! Nice pics you got there. How do you like the t300 and 341 mini? How many other bobcat machines do you have?

That looks like very interesting work.
Is insurance expensive?
How steep is the learning curve

Cool work, what do these companies say that bring there trucks on the barge? I am sure they charge extra, do they have to have a additional policy to bring them out there? Concrete truck on a barge, I know I would chit bricks if I was the driver.

No Kidding, that concrete truck must be super top heavy on the barge, Do you have set perimeters as what you can carry or is it just trial and error.
I suspect you will have lots of questions to answer in this thread

I don't see any problems that barge will pack 30 ton maybe 40. For working on a lake it is fine don't think I would try it here.

When a barge only has 6 inches of freeboard you know its loaded. Excavators and cranes are the worst on a barge if you are lifting or using a excavator to dredge with. Barge rolls machine slides off you need to chain down a crane or excavator if you are making the barge roll.

BMs barge even has mini spuds on it for holding it in place when working in a fixed spot.

mrsops- So far I love both of them, the 341 is an 01 and the only problem I have ever had is if it is 90 or hotter I tends to get hot rather easy other than that great. I picked up the T300 up this spring it was a repo and so far very pleased only have 280hrs on it.

Danny boy- the insurance isnít bad but I only have it on our newer 315. It and my mini are the two that float about 95% of the time. I have figured what I can hold on each barge but it varies like gravel rat said.

KTM- so far the companies have liked doing it, they usually take pictures and use it as advertising. They do get a premium usually.
