Where do the blades go?

When you buy a new mower and have a mulch kit installed where do the standard blades go? You would think the dealer would give you them as they came with the mower, you get the discharge flapper thing guess they can't take off for liability reasons.

Do they resell them or what? Last year on my stander I asked for the original set that came on the mower and the salesman said they were lost. What a joke I should have demanded them.

They may very well just throw the original blades on the shelf in the back to be resold. That's kind of a grey area unless you request the old blades back when you order the mulching kit on a brand new mower.

How's that mulch kit work in thick wet st. aug? I've thought about one but not sure if it would work well in the summer.

The blades were lost but I bet he could find a set to sell you

You should of got your stock blades. Mulch kits come with mulch blades that you paid for, Mower comes with stock blades , which you paid for. Just because they installed a mulch kit does not mean they are entitled to steal your stock blades unless they credited your account for the price of the blades.

I just ask them to trade my standard blades they take off for a mulching set, and they've always done it with no questions asked.

The mulch kit works awesum in wet St.Augustine.. Would never go back to side discharge. Cuts excellent wet or dry. I have a John Deere Z830A and mulches everthing in sight and leaves a beautiful cut everytime.

Works great for me on my toro and stander, I can still cut fast too! Use high lifts for fall with leaves and standerd lift blades in summer for thick grass.

That's not so bad, but have you tried asking the dealer this question?
