Get ready for sticker shock, almost any decent plan in nj is going to be over 500-600 a month for just you and over 1k for family. The plans that are in the 200-300 range you end up paying for most of the bill anyway, they always find something that they don't cover.

I priced it out a while back and for me (a 25 year old healthy non-smoker) I think most plans were between 90 and 120 a month.

Maybe in fl yes but come to nj and the price is alot higher for whatever stupid reason the prices are 5 times higher then some other states. Also if you went to the doctor for anything in the last 12-18 months and didn't have insurance the last couple months you will automatically have a pre-existing condition and anything they consider related to it they will not cover. My 20k medical bills will contest to that even though my doctor and specialists said otherwise.

That 90 or 120 is not what me or anyone else in my family or my friends are seeing. We're seeing 500-1500 per month, if not higher.

Jersey Shore,

Health insurance is a mess these days. It does need a reform, but I don´t agree with the national regulations proposed by Congress. Our agency stopped providing health insurance 5 to 10 years ago. We now refer our clients to reputable agency in town that specializes in it. In Florida, there are only 6 insurance carriers that write group health insurance and each one has hundreds of different plans available. I would recommend that you contact an agency that specializes in health insurance and represents all of the various insurance carriers in your state. They can put together a few different proposals for you and give you options on the coverages and the various monthly payment plans.

Did you ask your insurance agent if they have plans available?
