Anyone have any good recommendations for a good fishing spot within an hour or so of Springfield, MO? I've already went the Stockton route and looking for something new for this Saturday.

Looking primarily for a location with some nice catfish.

Thanks, not sure I was sick as a dog first part of the week so we will be working this Sat. I may try to take off on day next week once we get caught up, I need my fix.

The only thing I know about Catfish is the stinkier the bait the more they like it. .

Very cool! You do any fly fishing? Are those kayaks comfy to fish out of?

Nah I don't fly fish, never interested me for some reason. It depends on the kayak. One of mine my back will start hurting after an hour or so, the other one is like sitting in a camp chair, guess which one I use the most.

Here is a link to one of mine, the comfy one. It's called an Ultimate for a reason.

Loaded and going tomorrow but not to early, it's going to be cold in the am. Can't wait, first time to go fishing in 3 weeks. Well I did do a bit of bank fishing yesterday, 3 small reds but that don't count.

Pics to follow, I hope.

Here are the pics as promised.

Not a great day but not bad either, in fact I don't think I have every had a bad day one the water.

3-4 rat reds, 2 slot reds, 2 trout 17' and 15".

Looks like one of the reds had been munching on small shrimp.
