What do you think?
Down at the dealer lookin at Stihl Backpacks
Guy i was talkin to is who i usually deal with for service and says the the br600 isnt worth the money it just gets its reputation for being top of the line. He recommended the br340 which i'm sure is a great blower and to save the difference of the cash and put it on something else. Any feedback????

Just get the br600. They probably want to get rid of the br340.

Yeah sounds like your dealer has old stock he needs to move. Trust me get the BR600 its like night and day over the BR340 and 380. I don't even stock the BR380's or 420's anymore since most people will sell up to a BR550 or BR600. Besides 75% of customers come in asking for just these two model backpacks anyway.

My theory on blowers......buy the biggest, baddest, most powerful blower you can find...period. Over the years I've bought smaller blowers cause they are good enough, or I didn't "need" all that power. Bull poop. More is better with blowers, and if at a certain point you don't need all that power...throttle it down some. Thats mho

I own both a stihl BR340 and a BR600. The 340 is nice, it does the job and is better than a handheld. I have run the 340 for probably 5 or 6 years now and I have never had a problem with it. It is does a good job if I'm just clearing off a sidewalk or driveway of grass or some leaves. But when it actually comes to heavier debris, like large amounts of leaves, it takes forever to get the job done. I actually just bought the BR600 this past fall, so I can't speak for the longevity of the unit. But after using both, I would choose the 600 over the 340 any day. Even if you're just clearing a driveway or sidewalk of grass clippings, the 600 makes the job much quicker and easier. The only complaint I have about my 600 was when I used it for several hours at a time, only stopping to refill, my right shoulder would be sore from the unit being at full throttle and the tube being on the right side. But I got used to that. Get the 600 and be done with it, you will get things done much faster.

My uncle uses the 340, and he swears by it. He claims that he likes it better than the BR600, which he has only demoed at our local dealer here in Greenville. He has had the 340 for years and has had no problems. It does have problems with heavier, wet leaves. If you get the BR600, let me put it through some real work for a year or so, and I'll let you know what I think.
