Duramax 3500 short bed
My dad (65) is looking for a "new" truck. His 93 F350 caught fire and burned and he's in need of a truck for the farm. Hauling hay, cattle, tractors etc. He SWEARS he's seen 3500 Chevy/GMC's both dually and single wheels that have the short bed. He wants an extended cab but doesn't want the long bed. Claims it's too long. I'm pretty sure the short bed is not an option on the 3500's but I can't make him see it. I've found an 04 Chevy ext cab dually 4x4 with 77k miles for $20k. He has let some good trucks get away looking for this what I think is a non exisitant truck. SO, does it exist?

Ya know, i dont think ive ever really looked for or seen a 1 ton chevy short bed..I know you cant get a dually short bed in them.

GM/Chevy 3500HD's are available with single rear wheels. I've never seen a 3500HD short bed. Go on GM's website & try to build one.

i have, a local contractor has one in a 2008, crew cab short bed dually, i had to look twice, but have since seen it several times. special order from chevy.

per the Chevrolet website the ONLY option for the 3500HD is the Long bed with the one exception of a special order with the 6.5 ft bed but that is ONLY available on trucks with the LTZ trim level which is ALL the bells and whistles. I love it when I'm right and the old fart is wrong

although I did learn something I was unaware of. there are THREE bed configurations. What I have always called a short bed (6.5ft) is now actually the STANDARD bed. the short bed is about 6 inches shorter and then of course the full 8 ft bed.
