The one I'm thinking about has a dump bed. How much would an average dump bed weight?

Its cheap because its a 6.0. Dont do it.

If your using it for lighter duty or personal use at all then you wont like it anyway. That is a dump truck chassis. Its made to haul an 8k payload.

I know you really only asked about MPG but just trying to help you out. As far as the mileage its not even in the equation for the powerstrokes unless its the old 7.3 that ended in 03 I think. Get ANY other diesel for decent economy.

I do have a second car that I own,but I'm starting to think there is a reason it is almost perfect, even though it is a little over kill for me. A 1 ton dodge would be perfect for me but all the ones I look at are 4wd, 100 000km and 5-7 grand off new.
