Its not getting lettered. Just the windshield banner, and my DOT numbers (which you can barely see anyway).

Thank you everyone for the compliments! I'm very happy with how it turned out!

A couple LAST upgrades to my '06 Silverado....added HIDs to the new OEM fog lights to match my headlights, and a friend of mine talked me into getting the NBS Chevy towing mirrors for this truck as well. I'm glad he did because its a world of difference in this truck!

I've gone a little ape5hit with this truck over the last couple weeks, but for the most part this is stuff I've wanted to do since I've owned the truck and its just recently come together. Should I be spending money elsewhere with the company right now? Yes, but hey you've gotta throw yourself a bone once and a while!

We have some VERY exciting projects coming up, one in particular which I'll spend a little time on in my next post.

As mentioned before, we have stumbled upon a very exciting opportunity to give back to the community and hopefully get some positive PR out of. Every year (like most cities), Buffalo has a Garden Walk. As part of the Garden Walk, the Western NY Nursery Landscape Association puts on what they call the Front Yard Contest. Basically, they pick a neighborhood in the city that is in need of some visual fixing up, and they pick a block of houses, usually around 10-15 houses. They ask for local landscapers to donate their time, materials and pocket book to re-landscape 1 house however they want. This is all done at the same time, the whole street is PACKED with trucks, trailer, equipment and landscapers all working at the same time over the course of a week. This year the work week is July 9th-13th. Now, when I heard about this in January and was asked to to it, I knew that my wedding was on July 14th, and for some reason this sounded like a good idea.....so pretty much its gonna be a CRAZY week for me, but I always say I have an outstanding crew and I know we'll make it happen! This is the house that we are doing:

Although its small, I feel like this presents an even greater challenge to me as a designer because I only have a limited space to get my point across with the design. Its also difficult when you're thrown a blank canvas and have NO direction from anyone, usually I at least have something from a homeowner that they want or dont want or even a color they like or may not like that kinda steers me somewhere. But its going to be a neat project, and I'm in the company of some real heavy hitters in the local landscape scene here so this is really a great opportunity for us as a smaller company to get ourselves out there! I'm very excited to be involved! Heres a link to the website with some more info:
http://www.nationalgardenfestival.co...ompetition.asp

Also a couple youtube videos from years past that kind of give you an idea of what I mean by everything happening at once:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wd8A...hannel&list=UL

I MAY do my own video type thing that basically just showcases my company, and what we are doing and how this whole thing works and use it as some sort of advertising thing down the road. We'll see how things go and if theres time for that.

yeah I've probably designed that place differently in my head every night for the past 3 weeks while trying to fall a sleep lol. Like I said, originally I was happy that it was a small lot because I knew we could be in and out quickly, but as a designer its really hard to get your point across in such a small area. Its kind of like going to a band and telling them to write a #1 hit song for the radio but the song cant be more than a minute long. Every idea I have is probably good, but its all up to me so unlike most cases I dont have a customer to go to and say "do you like this?" I'm excited to get there and do it though!

We finished the Front Yard Contest house yesterday. Overall, it was a great experience! My trucks were the backdrop for the press conference, we were on all the local news channels monday night (for you local guys, me and one of my guys were on Channel 4 giving the 4 signs), my picture was on the front page of the the City and Region section of the Buffalo News on Tuesday....and personally I think we have the best looking house on the street so we MIGHT win this thing! I'll let the pics tell the rest of the story.....

"Before"

view looking down the street of everyone working on Day 1

End of Day 1

Heres one of the news stories, theres a shot me me and one of my workers at likes 15 seconds in the video.

That was some nice free advertising having your truck placed behind the podium where the news cameras were!! I like the landscape, its relatively very low maintenance but gets the job done.
