Question about Dmax/allison

I test drove a 2003 cheverolet 2500 2wd with the 6.6 LB7 with auto. What trans did it have? I thought all duramax were paired to the allison trans but it just had a duramax badge on the door nothing else.

Sorry for a dumb post I'm too lazy to subscribe to any diesel forums and i couldn't find much with a quick google search.

It's an Allison. Earlier years of the Duramax truck's had badges on the door that only said "Duramax", unlike later year's like 06'.

Yeh they all have allisons. That one will just be a 5 spd unfortunately. The 6 spds the chit! The LBZ's and LMM's have the badges that say allison on them.
