When i purchased my 2008 GM, the duramax/allison was an additional $8400. I think that was a lot of money, but i love the truck, it runs great & i plan to keep it for a long time! Im not sure i would be willing to shell out an additional $10,000. for the diesel/automatic ?

True... I'd go with 7.3 power in a new truck today. Proven,reialbe,but suck fuel.
