For the most part 4 wheel drives are the common choice for a truck around here. Pay a little extra but if you need it it's there. Used my yesterday day to pull a trailer our of a muddy ditch.

Same here. When I do need it, I have it, and it has been used on more than one occasion. I tried a 2wd once and decided to never go that route again.

I wouldn't consider my 4x4 truck "cool", its more of a "chick magnet".

But yes I do drive a 4x4 truck.

Of course, A GM 4x4 with a Duramax diesel is the top of the line.

As for buying a 4x4, Its better to have it and not need it; rather than need it and not have it. You'll also get a good part of the upcharge for the 4x4 back when you sell it. And you'll sell it quicker.
