Where exactly are you in southern wi? I live in N. IL and go to school in platteville.
No plow for the '08 though? Does the bobcat move from site to site or does it stay like the jd does?

Hey thanks for the kind words guys, to answer a few of the questions:

Our service area is limited to Dane county with the majority of it in the central area.

For the past few years I have worked a full time 40 hour/week job as a diesel mechanic. The job is second shift so this allows me to work during the day. Warm months see me putting in MANY hours. When the time is right, I will quit the diesel tech job. It is getting harder and harder to do both as my own business grows. However with the economy the way it is, I refuse to give up a very good paying job with incredible benefits and health insurance until I am 100% sure I can sustain myself on my business alone. Some might frown upon that, but I don't. I see it as doing what I think I should do.

So technically you could say it's part time, but during the summer it sure feels like full time. I have approximately 60 weekly accounts but also bring in a lot of work with spring dethatching, mulch and aeration/cleanups in the fall.

There is no plow on the '08, but there will be a v-blade on it for next winter. I will likely pick up a cheaper 3/4 ton to haul the skidsteer. Yes, the Bobcat does go from site to site, but it also depends on the amount of accumulation.

I have a '10 Vantage(48"/24HP) on order, and should be picking it up in a week or two. I'm also considering an UltraVac system for the Z... A truck loader is something else I am thinking about for the coming fall. A lot of this will depend on how much we pick up for accounts this year... I'm hoping to almost double the number. I know that's a lofty goal, but why not

Any regrets with goin for the 5.4 in both trucks? Surpring especially since your a diesel mechanic, I bet that job really pays off when stuff breaks down though.

Not really, both have good power and I don't haul stupid-heavy loads so they work well. Yeah you can definitely feel it with the skidsteer back there, but I wouldn't exactly say we have trouble pulling it. Now if there is a dump truck in the future then I probably want to go diesel, same if we ever add a large dump trailer.

The 5.4 does a really good job on the plowing end of it too, I worried about pushing power with the wings on, but I haven't really had any problems.

Yeah I know how to fix things pretty well, and it helps out with the skidsteers. Good thing, because my brother barely knows how to change the oil on his pickup
