chains and binders

gonna order 2 binders and 2 chains from uscargocontrol.com are they a good vendor? any other recommendations?

my order:

2x grade 70 20' 3/8", 6600lb working load chains for $38 each
2x 3/8" ratchet binders with 9200lb working load for $25 each

total comes to $128 then $26 bucks for ground shipping. sound reasonable?

I agree use grade 80 chain especially with 3/8s then you have some safety margin.

I think AW direct is a site sponser.

Also buy the North American made chain not that chinese imported crap. I know of people that have had problems with hooks stretching and problems with overseas made chain.

I have been around cranes and have seen chain stretch and hooks bend and its the stuff from China. They maybe rated for so many X amount of tons but go past that limit abit and it fails.

You will want some kind of lockable chain box because chains seem to grow legs and disapear

Chains is expensive and if its easy to steal somebody will steal it.

You don't even need a box you have a hook rail that you can slip the hooks over then have a angle iron bar that you can lock over top which prevents the chain from being stolen.

Is all chain sold by AW made in America? I didn't see anything saying this on their website (they are closed today or I'd call).

I need two ratchet binders and can't bring myself to buy the chinese imports.
