If you've never done it before and need an idea of how long it will take, do it by the hour.. But set a minimum hour limit..

Personally I'd do it by the job, its easier to lose money that way but you can also make more money that way if you do it right.

I would go by day and half day rate. So if it takes two days but on the second day you finish at 1, your getting paid for the rest of that day. No risk of losing money , and you have the potential to make more money then charging by the hour.
