Crazy dump truck?????

Saw this on craigslist and thought it was crazy.

Is it even safe. Could the frame handle the weight when loaded???
any opinions.
its a 1988 toyota truck with a dump bed.

at only 2200 someone might take it into consideration.

I would buy it if I had the extra cash. That would be great for those really small residential jobs in subdivisions.

That really isn't as bad as you think. That looks like a 1 ton Toyota. They actually did make a 1 ton pickup back in the 80's. And you could actually buy an aftermarket kit to make it a dually. I've heard of a lot of guys doing this to use as lawn trucks.

If you look at the GVWR of the truck I'm sure the payload is something like 500 pounds, and the dump-bed probably swallowed it up.

You can put a bow and a ribbon on a turd, but it's still a turd.

Seriously though, look at the pic, the frame on the thing is tiny.

thoes frames are known for rusting in two. The 4x4 is for offroading to get material close to the site.
