Skidsteer and Trailer combo....is it a decent price.

Stumbled across this And I'm wondering if it's a reasonable price.

2001 John Deere 240 Skid Steer Loader, 2-Speed, 51 HP 2.9L Diesel, 65 Bucket, Hours Read: 553.9, S/N: 340180

2006 Bull Dog 718H Trailer, 8,000 Lb

He's asking 10,000


Trailer seems in solid shape. Skid steer has a couple rips in the seat. It's in washington and was thinking of driving down.


A friends looking into getting one for his farm. You guys know way more about skidsteers then i do

Well it's a Deere, so no one wants to read my opinion.

Not a bad deal for what it is, IMO. To me, that's what I would pay for a Deere because they aren't my first choice. However, if a guy really was looking for a 240, seems to me that's probably below value by a couple grand, plus it comes with a trailer.

I looked up the history on this skid, and it was originally sold to a rental company. Last reported hours were higher than what is listed. 2-speed was not available on this unit. PM me if you want more info.

after buying/selling about 5 JD 240's...the hour meters on these things fail a lot...check the condition to determine the hours.

If you wanted, first go look at the machine and trailer,then decide if it is anything your interested.

Now you know about the hours,ask him up front about the hour meter.Just might be something you can use against the deal, to make even a better deal, then what he wanted to start with.

Who knows might save yourself 2K

Main thing is if it is really what you want.Good Luck
