Trailer Floor Coating???
I bought a 7X16 open trailer this winter to use for my spray setup. I have a 200 gal space-saver, 250 gal tank and PG that will go on this trailer. I plan to load the PG from the back using the ramp. The floor has not been coated yet and thinking about go with Rhino Lining on the wood floor. This stuff is expensive, but think it would seal the wood nicely and also prevent any chemical or fert from getting into the wood. The trailer has removable side ramps/rails that will allow me to load fert from the side. Looking for ideas.....any help is appreciated.

If it is treated lumber, it really doesnt need any coating and will last many years as it is. But you could use rustoleum brush on paint mixed with some grit material to prevent slipping if you really want it coated, the rhino lining would be overkill for trailer boards.

The lumber is suppose to be 2" treated pine, but just concerned that this won't be good enough to get some good life out of it before it dries out too much and shrinks or needs to be replaced.

In my experience, by the time the wood rots and needs replaced, the trailer itself needs replacing by that time anyway. Treated wood will last a very long time. I believe if it is new treated wood, you are supposed to wait at least one year before putting any stain or coating on it, so it can breathe or something like that, and coating it too soon will result in premature aging and cracking. Just what Ive heard?

Treated lumber is treated against rot and insects not bowing, twisted ect. You need to get a good wood sealant to help keep the lumber from bowing , splitting ect. I was a manager at a lumber yard for many years and I would suggest a product called CFL.

I have used this product on a jeep and its amazing, the textured has amazing grip, and it seals the surface, and it chemical resistant. It is used on things from ship decks to helicopter landing pads,

rhino liner would be pretty good. a friend of mine used it on the inside of an inclosed trailer and it came out really good. i wish i had some pictures of that

I got it from that web site, it took 1 gal to do the complete inside of my jeep, and about 2 cans to do the whole outside, just an fyi the first coat you put on will lot like ****, I read a review that told me that ahead of time, and I thought it can't be that bad
but once I had the first coat on, all I could think was wow this is horrible looking what did I get myself into, then I waited until it was dry enough for the 2nd coat and it was like night and day, it looked amazing, so just keep the faith and get through the 2nd coat this link should bring you to the ordering page https://www.durabakcompany.com/inc/template.cfm?page=1
