well hello folks. i have to say that i have to play the newbie game here so let it begin.

this is my third pond. 1st no kit custom. i want a pondless, boulder-bubbler. these are the terms , i think i am using them correctly. for my home work i like to have the names of things so i'm not driving all over the place to price and set logistics. i cannot find for the life of me (and been trying for 3 -days now) to see some rock and get some names of what i like. so i'm gonna see if this photo i just found helps.


i did the plantings for this one i kinda like the rock size, but want more color in the stones. my size bubbler will be 5 big dudes in a 9' x 6' space. also half a bin of mixed accent and water controller stones. i plan on having hopefully only 2 stones plumbed.

for the coverage i want, i may not plumb and turn into a pondless falls
the big stones may be powerfull just thought of doing actually steps 3' wide and just stack and make look kinda roman i dont know like top it wit a 2' comn and let the spill way come down between.????????

Google "Landscape Rock" and Landscape Boulders". You'll find other rock types and names that you can not find at your local rock yards. I "Googled" Louisville, Ky and it appears that you have several Landscape rock suppliers in the Metro area. You may need to do some leg work.

Tadpole thanks for the tag words. Trying to call around with the correct names to ask for then go. There are alot of places here thats why i'm trying to narrow down

You need to visit these suppliers and get an 'Eye's On'. You may actually find something that will look better than what you originally had in mind. Be sure to give them a business card and request that they contact you whenever they add a new rock style.
