Can someone tell me what fertilizer i should use to kill the weeds that are popping up all over my yard? Would a regular weed and feed work? I live outside Houston and it is warming up here. The grass really isn't growing but the weeds are. I have mix of San Augustine and Bermuda.

You're not going to like the answers you get. That mix of lawn means you must kill one turf to help the other.

I was hoping the San Augustine would have already taken over. What do you recommend?

The Bermuda is dormant right now so any uptake by it would be minimal. Any Atrazine product will work on SA. Consider putting down a low fert with Dimension at end of this month to keep from making matters worse. Bermuda is supposedly intolerant of Atrazine but you will never be completely free of it.

Bermuda will survive multiple applications of atrizine. Use a non selective for faster damage. When you knock out the Bermuda. St. Aug will fill space more rapidly. Nitrogen lightly applied with a higher frequency will help to push the St. Aug horizontally. AS LONG AS THE BERMUD IS SUFFERING. Posted via Mobile Device |

If its anything like the mixed yards I've seen you can't tell. The bermuda is infested in the SA so thoroughly ,a non selective is liable to kill everything.

I find bermuda to be invasive in st augustine lawns that are mowed low and heavily fertilized. Lawns that are dried out due to legislation, lack of funds or ignorance are also subject to bermuda invasion.

Here we find them by cheap homeowners that won't pay for a sod patch. They just appease the HOA with any green crap when they get cited.
