I used to wear lace up, steel toed boots. after several months of my feet cooking in those suckers on a daily basis, I switched to a Merrell gore-tex hiking boot...Seeking more comfort, I switched to a Merrell, gore-tex hiking type shoe to keep me dry...when it's definitelygoing to be dry all day (no dew) I wear a pair of Merrell water-pro Maipo's....very lightweight, see thru mesh upper and extremely comfortable. For me, doing 95 lawns a week, it's all about comfort....ALWAYS wear my Walk-Fit inlays too. my feet never get tired.

How do you guys where boots almost all the way up your legs in (exaggeration) in 90* weather just to cut grass????

Steel toe boots for working on machines or around rocks or scrap metal, cleats for working anywhere I have to walk long distances on dirt, sand, grass etc.

I've got steal toed CAT hydraulic boots for my work boots. I usually replace them every other year, always get the same model.

I use tennis shoes when I just mow or work around my own yard, but since my tennis shoes are my everyday shoes, I don't want to get them nasty.

I do find that the steal toed boots provide the most protection, which is an important feature for me.
