Z Owners....
We should have our own forum!!!! But I have a question for those who do big properties. How long would it take with a Z, (I have a Jr.) to spread fertilizer on 29.5 acre cemetery? One guy and the machine. Its wide open. lol with some headstone in nice rows....I think I have my number but am new to the Z.

If you have the small hopper I am not sure...but with the larger hopper I would say I could cover 5+ acres an hour easy. If you are spreading only you can cover 18-20 ft per pass.

You can only spread 10 ft in a cemetery i dont have a z but i have done a Natl cemetery 33 acres i bet you could do that in about 15 hrs if it was all good ground

Depends on your spacing. If you are are at 10ft, you can figure 3 acres/hr. I would adjust my speed to 5.5 to 6 mph. If wider you might get 4 acres/hr. You can put extra bags on top of your full hopper. I can get 5-6 acres/hr from my Max.

Are you going to have an assistant driving the truck around so you can fill up in the least amount of time? That is 101 bags of fert-right--plus extra gas. Plus allow for emergencies, extra gas and oil--flat tire--broken cotter pin--bang head on tree limb--stuck in wet spot--knock over a monument, (hope not).

I was figuring 10 minutes to refill. move the truck at some point. Flagging is another story... How do you guys like the deflector on the z? Looks a lot better than a lesco deflector. on a big property like this does the z keep enough product off the road but on the edge where needed for crabgrass control. how much blowing off would you do? minimal right Not sure on the spacing on the stones. Yes that will make a difference..

So that was 10 minutes per stop x 23 refills(If I carry 5 bags) =230 minutes/60 =3.83 hrs just to go get more fert. I have to flag every 100 ft(1.3mhs) and also blow off(1mh).. I think 10 ft in between stone would be correct..

figure it to be a day. best case you are going to spread 3 acres an hour. we do an application in a cemetary every summer that is 27 acres. with our new z and the big hopper it took from 8 am to 3 pm with posting and cleanup with a half hour lunch. lucking for us we only have to post along the road frontage and not along the roads within the cemetery. figure it as a whole day and you will be fine.
