I'm a Heat fan, but I think the Magic are going to win it all this year. They have the deepest team in my opinion. I was rooting for them last year.

Landscaping Associations - Can they help with discounts?

I agree. Let's bring it up to some of the associations like ALMA, PLANET, FNGLA, and Florida LMA. I imagine one of them could help with group discounts.

Has anybody discussed this with organizations before? Do any of them have programs that are trying to do this?

Rick Beaver made a post about meeting with an equipment supplier in North Florida to get discounts but to the best of my knowledge said no more about it. The supplier posted on lawnsite and was asking questions about ALMA. This was about 2 or 3 months ago.

I looked it up. GPDesign1 asked about ALMA on 11/30/09 and being an affiliate, he said he was contacted about being a supplier. He is from NC though so it must be two different companies.

Here is Tommy's reply. "We're working on it. Margins on equipment are very very tight right now so getting them to offer anything has been real difficult. As soon as we get to three or four thousand members, I do believe they will start to budge. We are spending our efforts on developing relationships with ancillary services like insurance, clothing, fuel, legal, things like that. In this tough economic climate everyone is tightening their belts. But large numbers will always attract them. We'll get there! "

There gonna tell you to pay them 30 a month if you want help more than likely. At least thats the theme I seem to see play it's self out over there. Which is fine being that the man is trying to make money. But it's hard to have a thriving forum when you cant really get any answers.

I agree. According to the forum membership counter they have 73 members so depending on how that corresponds to total membership they probably have a ways to go.

Planet members get an 8% discount on thier J. Thomas parts and equipment orders as well as some additional discounts through what they call affinity partnerships for fuel, office supplies etc.

Yes Sir,

I do not visit that forum anymore CK after you asked the question for paying members to tell if it was worth it and Tommy got all fired up at us for asking. I have no issue with the man making money but just continuing to hear the same old same old "our years of experience" speech etc wears a little thin. Forum has to get going a little more for me to even consider paying for it. As far a Central FL folks CK talked to two other guys in my community. Trying to find a way to get us all together but if you are like I am you are swamped right now. Good news is that I am bidding Sod jobs at a decent price and actually getting them - bad news is each of the pallets I have thrown this week had tons of fire ants in them and my arms now look like a mine field.

This is what my arms feel like at this point -
