Atv or utv, how many miles is too many

I'm looking at used atv or utv for spraying, pulling a drag rake, and some other jobs. Looking at polaris, and can am, 500-700 size,found some nice ones with 1500-2000 miles. How many miles on average can you can get out of one before it needs major work

easier with atv , i just sold my rhino , going back to atv easier to haul and get around in. I have had atvs with 5000 plus miles without any major issues.

I think it depends on the current owner and where it's been used or rode. I would rather buy one that has 2000 miles or 1000 hours that's been used on a farm etc. than one that has been hammered in the woods or rock climbing with a 100 hours. Underneath of the machine will most likey tell the story of the machine. Also if your buying a 4wheel drive grab each wheel and give it a tug to check the CV Axles.....those are pricey to replace. I just sold my ranger with 700 hours and put it through heck and beck and rebuilt the trans once and broke 2 axles.

I'd LOVE to use my ATV. The only problem is, the rear diff is locked and will rip the grass up whenever you turn. It would be great if there was a conversion kit to make the rear diff free wheel like the front diff lock does.

My quad has 1400 miles runs like a top. Original owner wrecked it. I got it for 500 bucks. Best 500 ive ever spent.

my atv is a 96 with no hour/mile meter. but its got over 3000 no doubt. only ever been in the shop 1 time for an engine rebuild last winter. gota love the Polaris

I have about 850 on my Arctic Cat and I use it daily as a farm toy. It runs perfect except for a slight noise at idle where the plastic vibrates as it got a little bent when I rolled it.
