Please help. What is this grass?

This has completly taken over in small groups in my St. Augustine yard. I cant find what it is by searching through pictures on line.
It has very small seeds on the seed heads.

Looks lke Poa annua--or--annual bluegrass.
It should fade out when the heat builds up--but it reseeds itself in the fall--it is a winter annual.

It just came on this week. How do I kill it without killing the St. Augustine? I 2-4-D'd this about a week ago and the other junk grass is dying off nicely. But this is coming in now like crazy. I looked it up online and it suggests a preemergent herbicide in early spring and again inlate fall. Sound right to you all?

Image or Certainty works good, but with the heat coming on it will die off pretty quickly, Use Pre emergent

Its gonna die when the temps are int the 80's and 90's...your best bet is to leave it for now and prevent it next season. Its likely already dropped its payload anyway so you will get a visit from its siblings next season.
