i have a unit for a great dane , but sold great dane , bought grandstand can i make the catcher for the great dane work with the toro or do i need to buy a new one

No, this won't work. The toro has a unique outlet design with their "quick attach plate", a welded on 3/8 thickness metal ridge. The catcher we build for the toro fits specifically to this. On the positive side, the catcher we build for the Toro fits nearly all of them going back to 2001.
