Moles

I wasn't sure where to post this. This seemed like the best spot. I need advice on getting rid of moles. I have a very good customer calling me ALOT. I've never seen the problem as bad as this year. Usually only see tunnels in fall. I rolled her yard last Saturday thinking I'd be good for the season. She called last night and said that the tunnels are back already. I need advice on traps. I've been putting poison down but Iknow you have to pick the right tunnel to get them and that's not easy. Any advice appreciated.

I use Talparid - check them out. I have also noticed a huge amount of activity this year from the lil' buggers.

If you don't put traps in the active tunnels, you won't have any better luck than with Talpirid... If you already rolled it, then at least you know that they are active now, and it's not all over winter damage you are seeing. Put traps in the straitest runs you can find. If you have time, first poke holes in some runs, mark with a sprinkler flag, come back in a day or two & if they have been plugged up, put your trap there repeat until no new tunnels

I just purchased The Rodenator. It pumps a mixture of oxygen and propane into the tunnels, then it blows them up. Have several jobs lined up already. Good times!

Let me first start by saying I have no experience with moles but this pest and its control has intrigued me so I read these posts.

I do not know if it works but I remember one member suggesting placing typical road flares in the holes to fumigate the tunnels. I do not know if this is legal or works but if it does could be a cheep fix.

Hope others will weigh in on this method.

One thing is for sure: The longer you "try" your "brother in lawns flare fix" or the "gargen guy's call in show on the radio's" recipe for mole repellant made from piss & molasses, the longer the moles have to become established & reproduce. Why screw around with some so called "fix" when you can just get some traps & kill them-DEAD End of story!!!
