I ordered the study guides today, take the test on May 6th, the lady I spoke with was pretty snippy. Could anyone tell me it this test is open book?
The farm spray permit I took a couple of years ago, was one that you could refer to you book on. Is this one similar, how long is the test? All the lady told me was to bring a calculator.

Thank you for any information you could provide.

The test is NOT open book. Which category are you taking? 3? Read the core book cover to cover 10+ times, read the cat 3 book 10+ times cover to cover.

When I took the test in October, there were nearly 30 people taking the exam. It is not open book. You must take the core and a specific area such as turf grass, which is category 3. The proctor asked for a show of hands regarding who was taking it for the 2nd and 3rd times. Nearly 2/3 of them were. However, I studied for 2-3 months (read the guides a lot and surfed this site) and passed both tests on the first attempts in the high 80's and low 90's. Good luck. Even if you pass the test, I'm sure you'll still have lots of questions. Stay tuned in to this site.

I didn't think the test was that bad. I was out of there in about an hour and I took two different sections of the tests.

I passed my first time, didnt study to much but also didnt get A+ scores

10 times?? A little overkill there I think. I read the end of the chapter reviews only in the CORE and did a lilttle more studying in the Category and passed. I might have studied 3 hours. I would study the little Pesticide law book more than any of the three seemed more questions came from there.

It might be overkill but I passed the first time and I know everything in the book, not just whats at the end of each chapter. It's good to know as much as you can, and not just enough to get by.
