Repair unused mower

I have a mower with a 14 HP Kawasaki engine that's been left outside and hasn't been used in 3 years. What's the best way to try to get it to start?

The kind of mower would help, along with some model and serial numbers, but generaly what you wanna do is completely clean the fuel system, including the carburetor, really good. Then change the other fluids and filters (engine, hydro's if equipped, etc.) Then check, and probably go ahead and replace the air cleaner, and spark plugs. Then fill it up with fresh gas, if its electric start you may have to jump it, if it pull start, then pull away! (just make sure the keys on and safety switches are functional, etc)
