Draw up a mini-business plan. Let her know that you know what you are talking about and that it could potentially make things better for you guys.

Set your goals for your lawn business and let her set goals for your marriage. For example, say that you would like to have x amount of customers and making x amount of money within a specific year, and assure her that if you can not meet that goal, then you will move on to how things used to be.

I say that because so many people get into this business with high expectations and fail at it. Don't go out buying big ass equipment that you are going to have to sell at a loss. You may just end up straining your relationship if you don't set some sort of goals or you don't make enough money cutting grass.

It could all depend on your current income situation as well. Something is better than nothing.

Same here, until the record-setting drought of 2007. Then she was against it totally. She kept telling me to quit. To this day she resents my career decision to be a landscape contractor. Just remember......winners never quit and quitters never win.

First off, who asked your in laws? You and your wife got married and became ONE. I wouldnt hide anything from her and ask her to have your back on it. You didn't marry her parents so I wouldn't tell them anything.
