I don't have the 52"SD deck. I have the 48"GHS deck. However,
I don't foresee you having any problems running the 52" deck.
The 26hp EFI motor is very strong and torquey. I've certainly never had a problem where lack of guts was a factor.

My question would be,if you're not going to bag, hence the SD deck, then why would you buy a Walker? Better option would be
a Hustler Super Z. The Walker's ground speed is just too slow.

I run the setup that you are talking about. I love it for my application. I have many hills, I'm talking quite steep. The 52 hugs the hills better than any Z ever can. Thats where I make up my time. The guys with big Z's cut the flats much faster and then have to walk the hills. Not me. We get done in the same time and I am less tired. The 52 setup has the double blades which are unbelieveable. The deck is solid. I have nothing but good to say about the 26efi also. It has performed extremely well for me.

Its a great combination for my business.

I have this set-up.

With our southern grasses the deck does not leave noticable clippings on yard with one pass. Yards like bermuda, if wet and thick will require a second pass. But still looks good when done.

Walker has changed the baffles in the 52" deck, so there is less blow out from the front of the deck. Before this change I just used the 52" for mulching. It did a great job on grass, but was not worth a darn on leaves. (blow out) Had to chase every single leaf down.

And Southside.....

My question would be,if you're not going to bag, hence the SD deck, then why would you buy a Walker?

Because, I like them.

Like today, I am going to do some of my bigger yards, and I have my 52" deck on the mower. Tomorrow I will use my 42" mulch deck. And if I need to bag or clean up a yard I will use my 48" or 46"GHS deck.

Just by changing the deck I can I have a different mower to suit my need for that day. And since I am not in any hurry, decks are a lot cheaper than a 20mph mower.
