New trimmer keeps cutting out on me

I have a brand new shindaiwa t282 trimmer I bought 2 weeks ago. The first day I used it, it would die on me when turned to edge. It would be fine with a full tank, but when it gets to at least half tank, it cuts out on me and I have to prime it to get it going again. There have been a few days that it didn't do it, but for the most part, it has been cutting out on me and it is frustrating. Any ideas to what could be wrong? I called the company that I bought it from and haven't heard back from them yet.

I have an old school Shindaiwa trimmer that would do that too. I still use the thing to this day (10 years) and it doesn't do it anymore and I think the only thing I've done is change out the check valve (the one way valve on the gas tank). I don't know if that was what fixed it or not but it'll run on fumes now. Also following the kiss method, just make sure your fuel pickup in the tank is submerged when it's on its side
