PenFed (Pentagon Federal Credit Union - google it) had a really good credit card where they paid 5% cash back on gas paid at the pump. Yes 5%! I don't recall if there is a top end limit to how much you can get back though. Called Patinum Cash Rewards Visa $0 first year annual fee then only $25 per year after that. I was initially turned down for this card as my credit score was just under the minimum required to get it. You've got to have darn near perfect credit score to get it.

I paid the fee to join this credit union (anyone can join in any state) at that time so I could hopefully get the card but I was declined, now that I was reminded about this I am going to try again as I know my score has come up some.

Many times the cash back has a limit, finding a no limit card is the trick.
