Kawasaki 23 horse on Exmark. Puff of white smoke at startup

When I start my mower. (showing 162 hours). I sometimes get a white puff of smoke that goes away immediatly. After I started it I mowed a 3 acre yard with no issues. Anything to worry about with that puff of smoke. I just got the mower.

Are you sure it isn't blue and not white?
Horizontal Kawi's are notorious for a bit of oil seepage into the cylinder head past the valve seals which puffs on start-up.

I will have to look again. The mower had not been started in about a week when it happened. It was enough smoke to make me wonder.

Just a drop of oil in the crankcase will make volumes of smoke. Nothing to really worry about, I would say.

I would just keep running it, so long it clears up in short order it should be all right.
