weed spray only $$

Say you have a 15,000 s/f lawn. Normal cost $65 - $75 for a complete application. But he only wants BWC (broadleaf weed control only). I'm thinking $50. It's a ride-on account, but it has slopes & a 48" gate. Material cost is about $12. What do you guys think?

I had the exact same thing today. 14000 sq ft. I only offered 20 bucks off the regular application price which was in the high 80's, needless to say they just went with the full program.

This guy's house is for sale, but it ain't selling, and I could tell the lawn had been well fertilized. He called this afternoon to see if we could drop our BWC price. Said another company (you know who) would do a complete app for $45. Seems his 17-year-old son applied the fert, and he did a very nice job. I found out the guy is an ISU horticulturist.....that's why he chose us compared the the cheap estimate >> we treat several ISU professors' lawns cuz they like what we do. BTW our program was developed by ISU.

So I dropped our "BWC only" price from $60 to $50 cuz he's a land grant university employee. Good guy too. Now we're both happy.

I deduct only the cost of the fertilizer. I use a ride on too and it takes the same time to spread and spray as it does just to spray. I give them the price with and without fertilizer.

That is exactly what I do.

I take MY COST of the fert off...because it takes the same amount of time, and fuel to drive across that lawn.

Plus if that makes the difference very small and they will usually add the fert (which is better for their lawn anyway and will make you look better in 2 weeks).

Also if you don't encourage the lawn to thicken up it will just be full of weeds again soon. I tell the customer the key to cutting out weeds is thick turf. Can't do it without fert.

I charge 85% of normal cost for just weed control, time is the main factor. People will pay good money for results...

I'd say if your happy doing it for 50 then do it for 50, who knows who he will talk about you to. Word of mouth is a beautiful thing.

i would would be full reg app price, but each situation is different,
if it were cash and i was already there, sure id cut a few bucks off,
so heres a ? what is your price for a late fall app just fert on a similar customer ?
and what is your material cost difference between this and just weed control?
for most of us(not all) it the same as a round 1 app price

theres still a large portion of our overhead in just being a legit business showing up, paperwork, flags, fuel, invoicing etc.....

ive determined a set app price for each customer that goes across the board,
whether im ferting, applying flea+tick control,or just spraying weeds
