236B a/c

My 06 CAT 236b isn't blowing air as cold as it used to. I figure it's low on refrigerant but I can't seem to locate the low pressure port. Anyone *cough*ron*cough* know where it can be found?

Look in the belly of the machine.

Its right next to the low power output, which is next to the low breakout lever and the low production button.

Sorry couldn't resist. On the plus side you were right on the MACK truck thing. Great piece of gear.

Ah you may be right, KSSS, it is a little weak. It is, however, precise and precision is more important to me than raw power. I'm loading trucks with mulch with it these days and precision is key when loading the little pickups. I know it's got AC cause it used to blow nice and cold but I couldn't even seem to locate a compressor to trace lines off of today.

Make sure you also shake out the cab filter if it has one, that slowed down the air flow on my takkie.

I am impressed that you need AC right now. It is still in the upper 20's at night. It snowed like crazy this morning. Unusual even for here.

It gets up into the 80s mid-day and sitting inside a glass box gets hot especially with the windows shut to keep out blowing dust from the nearby tub grinder running. Gets toasty. I'll shake out all the filters I know of and if I can't get an answer from my LS buddies here I'll go up to h.o. penn CAT and ask them about the low pressure port cause I'm still convinced that it's a refrigerant issue.

Also Macks are always a good choice. Mine is getting a little TLC in the form of a new floor in the bed, a new hood, and paint some time soon.
