Thanks! She's a great woman, very supportive. I'm very lucky.
You bet! It's a life saver and just over-all great to have. It's not as efficient as a true mini-ex, but comes in super handy when needed. Especially when removing root balls of plants and shrubs, and the occasional retaining wall. It also does great at over-digging holes for B and B trees in horrible soil where an auger would struggle.

If you buy any attachment that's the one you need. I'm like you though, I rent the attachments I need when needed. I can't justify spending 3k-6k on an attachment that only gets used occasionally.

That and no one has the back-hoe attachment available to rent, so that's why I bought mine. Mine only goes down 4' and now I wish I held out for one that goes to 6', but over-all it does what I need it to do.

I'm in the process of fabbing up a ripper for my machine. I've found that I need to break the soil up better 80% of the time before tilling either with a tiller attachment for my machine or a walk-behind. Should only have about 200 bucks in it when it's done. I've tack welded it together and need to take it to a machine shop to weld it up good.

That's great on the woman! I agree, it's awesome to have support especially on those days where you wonder what the heck your doing in this industry........

Glad I'm not the only one. I'm already thinking about other green industry business ideas I have. I need to work smarter, not harder, and I'd like to create a better income stream where I can landscape leisurely.

Basically if I get a call for a job, and the client looks like they want to spend money and do something cool, but are going to be the hold their hand through the entire process and want to beat my head against the wall by the time it's done type of client, then I can just walk away and look for a different project.

I might need a business partner in this venture if your interested..........

We don't always do seed jobs like this, most are your more typical kill/seed. Most we do add soil where needed. This yard was fun because we had to do some demo work and some more intensive leveling and soil work. 12 yards of soil added. Makes for a great seedbed! This should be a beautiful yard. We really took our care with it... kill, cultivate, track-in, soil add, lots of grading, seeding (3 direction), starter fert, straw.

Look good, looks like the cultivator made quick work of the old lawn. Are you going to post some pics after germination??

I will. The cultivator is a badass attachment! Really does an excellent job. Tilled beautifully 6" down.

So with the cultivator, instead of having to haul off a bunch if debris like when you use a harley rake, you just till in the existing lawn and you can begin to lay sod/seed or no?
