Coping Shim

Hey folks,

I was considering attaching my pool coping (going on a steel wall vinyl pool) using an adhesive. Most likely PL or Type 3 SuperWet.

I know mortar is the preferred approach, but this is going on my own house and I think I'll have the best success with this approach (being my first pool coping and limited mortar experience). 10 years from now I can fix if it needs it.

One question...because the liner track is raised 1/4", the coping would be pitched 1/4" which I tested out and looks silly. When using adhesive for pool coping on a vinyl pool, do people use plastic shims to raise the back of the coping and remove the pitch? If so, got any details on the process (i.e. is the shim glued?, any special type of shim?...)

Thanks!
