07 Ferris 21hp kawasaki 160hrs shut off, wont restart?

One of our guys was mowing an open lawn, the machine ran fine for 5-10 minutes, suddenly just sputterd, shut off and wont restart.

Turn the key, engine cranks, choke but no fuel smell, doesnt sound like its getting fuel "chugging while cranking" etc.

Fuel is filled, fuel is in the line and filling the fuel filter.. what else can cause the engine past the fuel intake line to not get gas? Maybe bad carburetor part or something?

Could be a bad Fuel solenoid or bad fuel pump. Either debris is blocking the fuel to the carb or the solenoid is bad or the circuit for it is not working.
Not knowing what engine you have but you should have a drain screw on the bottom of the carb. Open that and see if you have gas not water.
Then on the carb also you should see a device with a wire to ground and another wire connected to it. that would be the fuel soleniod.
It's purpose is when the engine is off to stop fuel from passing through the carb to the engine. Not stopping fuel from filling the float bowl.
So if you take it off you need to turn off the gas supply to the carb.
