where to get quality used mowers

I was going to start out with a new exmark, but I thought I could get a good used mower and other equipment (trailer, edger, etc.) and reduce my start up costs. Anybody have any advice on where to get good used equipment? I thought about calling up other lawn services. Can't really find anything decent on Craig's List.

Check with dealers in your area, most take in trades. Keep a eye open for auctions, where your city/county sell off the equipment. Most of my stuff has come from the county auction, as they only keep there equipment for a year, and most is in great shape.
