Need help on this trimming job(with pics)

hey guys,

i got a call from this guy that wants me to trim what looks like spruce trees...he said he trimmed them 3 yrs ago..

Was just wondering if there any tips on doing these kind of trees and "what not to do's on these
i've read i shouldn't trim more then what the new grown part is

Another victim of overzealous plantings. Inappropriate proportion to the plot size and front yard. The first picture reflects poor planning without prior knowledge on growth maturity. That spruce is already encroaching on the front entrance walkway. Spruces are not good candidates of regular pruning requiring severe removal. That is the situation the homeowner has. Those are not dwarf species of spruce.

If it were me, I wouldn't touch those trees for pruning. I'd tell the homeowner that he should have the tree next to the walkway moved at the very least and his BEST option would be to have it moved to a different part of the yard. One Mature spruce tree in the front yard should be plenty.
