Theft tracking devices

FOLKS

With all the threads devoted to stolen equipment I think we need an input thread on the DEVICES and EXPERIENCES with Tracking Equipment and Related Devices To RECOVER Equipment.

Post here if you have direct experience with TRACKING devices and what is working best for you.

I am well covered with Inland Marine Insurance (& Always Have Been)
For our equipment, tools and SUPPLIES.

Thank the dear lord I've never had to experience at major theft. Only small hand tools have walked off jobsites in the past.

No idea until it gets here. I'll put up some info once it arrives. I have a good spot to hide it in my trailer, if its not that big. I'm hoping they are smart enough to understand that it can't take up a lot of space and be realistic.

The product is about a foot long 3" wide and 3" tall. It weighs about a pound. It is heavy duty plastic that is sealed and waterproof. To activate you simply remove a battery that is taped to the unit. Install is with 4 small screws or bolts.
Pros, its only 275 dollars for 3 years of tracking and the device all in.
Cons thus far, it only sends a signal to home base once a day. You can't just track it at anytime, unless its in theft mode and then you need to call them to turn that function on. According to tech support its because of battery drainage.
Its on my trailer now, and hopefully I'll never need to put it into use.

Sweet, I am also ISO one that would fit on a mower. In my situation, I think it may be more possible that someone might steal my brand new Scag WITHOUT the trailer so I'm going to protect it from that angle. I'll have to get creative to hide it without damaging it but we'll see. I'll update...
