Okay, here goes. The current deck belt on my John Deere RX75 appears to be hanging down when the PTO is off. Upon engaging the PTO it works sometimes. Other times it has fallen off. It is installed correctly, but it appears to be too long.

So I go on the web and search to find out the proper belt part number and size to install on the deck. Does John Deere prevent public dissemination of information on its equipment unless you buy their operator's and parts manuals? (Other companies provide free electronic downloads; JD disappoints me on this issue.) I had a tough time finding anything.

Anyway, I finally found an obscure PDF with belt applications for John Deere mowers. For the RX75, it specifies the following information in tabular form:

--- RX75------- Riding Mower-------- DIM--------- A&I
M112006----- Drive,30" deck----- 1/2x63----- A-A61K
M71529------ PTO, 30" deck----- 1/2x65----- A-A63K
M91470------ Secondary---------- 5/8x47----- A-B44K
M9304S------ Primary-------------- 5/8x43----- A-B40K

The first column appears to be part number (from John Deere?); it doesn't seem to coincide with model numbers. My machine is model #MORX75X606215. The second column gives a description. The third has belt dimensions and the fourth may be the equivalent universal belt number.

I'm pretty sure this means the deck belt is 1/2x65 and is #A63K. Does anyone know what the Primary and Secondary belts are? Are these for other mowers? I'm not sure why they're listed under RX75. I believe my mower has only two belts, a drive belt and a deck belt. Help welcome. (This is probably something obvious, but thanks in advance.)

PS: The John Deere Belt Application Guide can be found at: http://www.search-document.com/pdf/1...deck-belt.html . You can scroll down through the pages inside the window.

Jay,

Your machine has three belts....

You have a 1/2X63 to drive the deck.
One 5/8X43 primary drive belt.
One 5/8X47 secondary drive belt.

I posted a link where you could look up parts and see how many belts are on your machine.....

John Deere RX75

I am having problems with my RX75. Went to start it this year and would not turn over. I replaced the safety switches and it turns over now but will not start. I rebuilt the carburetor and it still won't start. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong. Does anyone know where I can get a Technical Manual.
