what to pay for a NEW Scag freedom z 48"??? can you negotiate?

I have been on the search for a used Z.. Not having much luck.

Decided to look new

I have a couple of options

1. Freedom Z Scag 48" for like $5200 (kaw 19hp)
2. Freedom Z Scag 48" for like $4999 (briggs 26hp)

Also which is the better way to go, bigger motor or stick to the kaw?

Is there any wiggle room? If you was buying one would you try to negotiate, or is the wrong time of year for that?

Well, I certainly not a 'pro', however the majority of the pros here will tell you to go for the 19hp kawa over the 26hp briggs - more torque, and that's what does the work.

Buying the Briggs would be the WORST $200 bucks you'll ever save. There's not even a consideration here...KAWI!!!

That is the price quoted to me by my local Scag dealer for a leftover 09 that they said was a Cash price. I think they already marked it down for you. Actually I was quoted 5200 for the Briggs.

2 weeks ago a local dealer had the Scag 48 with 26 Briggs for $4500. He said it was the best deal he had going, and the lowest price I've seen for that one.
